We are beyond excited to introduce our latest collection at Chouchou Intimates, Pas de Deux. Inspired by the timeless beauty and grace of ballet, this collection captures the essence of elegance and romance. To give you an inside look at how this stunning collection came to life, we spoke with our CEO, Tina, and our Design & Production Assistant, Kayla. Let's dive into the details.
The Muse Behind the Magic
Q1: What was the primary inspiration behind the Pas de Deux collection?
Tina: "The primary inspiration behind the Pas de Deux collection comes from my deep-rooted love for ballet. Growing up, I spent my childhood and teenage years immersed in the world of dance. The romance and dream-like atmosphere that a ballet performance creates has always captivated me and profoundly influenced my creative vision. I aimed to capture that ethereal beauty and translate it into lingerie that embodies grace, romance, and timeless elegance."
A Ballerina’s Dream
Q2: How do you envision customers feeling when they wear pieces from the Pas de Deux collection?
Tina: "When customers wear pieces from the Pas de Deux collection, I envision them feeling elegant and poised, much like a ballerina on stage. The collection aims to celebrate the strength and grace of women. I hope they find a unique power in embracing their softness, understanding that true strength is often found in our most delicate moments."
Behind the Seams
Q3: Can you walk us through your design process for this collection?
Kayla: "Once we decided on the ballet-inspired concept, I knew I wanted to play with nostalgia. Growing up, I was obsessed with shows like The Fairies and Angelina Ballerina. The pastel colours and dreamy visuals really inspired the making of Pas de Deux. Throughout the process, choosing the right colours and trims was the priority. It took various tries and errors to source the right ones to fit perfectly with the Collection."
Fabric Fantasies
Q4: Were there any particular fabrics or styles that you were excited to work with in this collection?
Kayla: "Definitely working with lace again! We wanted to prioritise sourcing unique yet comfortable lace fabrics for everyday wear. It was also fun to experiment with new trims and silhouettes. I especially love Juliet because of the colourway and we also introduced a new knicker style. This collection is like no other that Chouchou has done before."
